Race Reports

The following posts showcase the highs and lows of events where I have toed the line, booted up the Garmin and donned running shoes, trisuit, wetsuit and or cycle helmet as required for an organised event.
These races are mainly used to build on my training now referred to as ‘Training Events’ ahead of my big A races.


Swindon Half – the soggy one

Barry Island Swim/run event -different, difficult, definitely fun

ironman Wales – time to face the Dragon. Only managed 96% of race on day.

Still the toughest 70.3 on the planet for bike hills and trail run

Velothon Wales
Not strictly a race but fantastic closed road sportive

Immortal Mega Sprint
There are easier long sprints but I doubt any as scenic.

Not so flat and fast, but great location and nice multi terrain run and technical ride.

My first long sportive was a tough one, 5,500ft climbs and in Longleat Safari park, luckily didn’t see any lions on the loose.
