Bowood triathlon inviting lake with water temps at 8am of 19c+ I was off at 3pm so probably a couple of degrees warmer.
The bloomin windy rolling bike course (wind seems to follow me this year in race !) Then an undulating run on mixed terrain with temples, waterfalls, lake views and gardens to please the eye & take the mind off the effort !
This course rivals Blenheim but tops it as local, better value and less commercial. Plus many of the marshal,know my name ams shouted encouragement or friendly abuse as I passed by.
I highly recommend it 🙂 well organised, fantastic marshals superb setting and location. I will be back next year for sure when no doubt it will be bigger and better.
Scores in the doors from today effort = 1:42:00 gave me 2nd/ 7 in age group. Better than my Blenheim best time by 10 minutes. Sprint distance 750m swim, 459m run uphill to T1, 51:26 bike, 30:19 run
Long day as helped answer questions at registration from 7:30am to my own race start at 3:15pm
Good training session. Went on old road bike as not sure about cattle grids, next year on Felt.
What a great way to finish off Juneathon 🙂 Looking forward to Janathon but will try and blog training and races regularly before then.
